Feast of Christ the King!

I can’t believe it’s the end of the church year already. Next weekend is the beginning of Advent! I’ve tons of plans already, especially since Spencer is of an age in which he can participate in things. I just need to find the Advent wreath from downstairs (scary thought!). I’ve created a simple Advent calendar on our wall to count the days until Christmas (a real calendar, not just counting from the beginning of December), and I have hopes to make a Jesse Tree and be able to incorporate that into prayer with our Advent wreath. I just need to find a good place for everything (i.e. where Spencer won’t destroy it and yet is still accessible).

I think we are finally getting a handle on this sickness stuff. Spencer was sick again this week with something new; he threw up twice in two days (both at night, of course. Once on our bed, once in his). Poor boy; I think it’s the first time he’s really thrown up in a sick-type way. What a horrible thing to go through. I seem to have managed to miss that nasty one; Andy was hit with something that made him completely fuzzy in the brain and tired. I had some nasty stomach cramps which I thought might turn into Spencer’s, but didn’t. So, hurray! I don’t know if I should be crediting luck with it or the homeopathy prevention meds I was taking once I knew Spence was sick. One way or the other, I’m doing good right now.

This was a busy week for us. Spencer was in daycare two full days (supposed to be three until he got sick) so that I could get some work done and so that he could have time with Jill, his daycare provider, who is making amazing progress with helping him potty train. I don’t know if it has been the sickness or if he just prefers her place, but he’s not as willing to actually do something in the potty when he’s on it with us. He’ll just wait until he has his undies on again. Oh well, it’ll come soon enough. By Christmas he should be faring pretty well.

That’s about all I have for this week, folks. I meant to post the lasagna I made for Andy’s birthday on Thursday, but Spence was sick, and I meant to post a picture on Friday, but we were all a little under the weather (and then I had a major event for work in the evening). I will post this week, barring any disasters! I promise.

Hope your day is full of joy!
