Welcome to the end of the first week of Advent! How did yours go? We’ve been doing our Advent wreath & Jesse Tree along with a very simple Advent calendar usually right before bed. It’s a little awkward, but it gives Spud things to do (put up the symbol for the Jesse Tree and put up the flame on the Advent calendar). I’m using the Blessings and Prayers for Home and Family that the Canadian bishops released a number of years ago. There is a decent Advent prayers area in there. While I don’t use all the prayers listed, I pick and choose depending on how things are going and I really like the prayers. Tonight we sang a verse from O Come O Come Emmanuel. Spencer seemed to like that.

That’s about it. I have chicken wings in the oven, so I’m gonna go check on them and then eat them. Yum. 🙂
