Busyness

Today was a very full day, and an exhausting one for Spencer.

We were invited to a potluck lunch by my (former) classmates, who just finished their last class of the program today, and wanted to celebrate. So Spencer and I joined Di and Pat, along with 3 of our profs, and had a nice picnic outside. It was a beautiful day, and the food was really wonderful and tasty (dill in egg salad sandwiches – who knew it could be so good?!), and of course, we had some wine. It was quite a lovely afternoon, and I just want to say congratulations to both Di and Pat who now have completed their Master in Pastoral Theology degree!

On the other side of things, Spencer normally has an awake span of 1.5 hours. He completely put that to shame today, staying awake from about 9am to roughly 2:15 this afternoon when we arrived home. He had short spans of naps throughout that time, but none lasted longer than 5 minutes. This was not, though, a very good thing for him. He was so overtired, and I’m hoping that he gets a good amount of sleep tonight. Time will tell, but I am still shocked at how long he was able to stay up. And, as per his personality, he was friendly and smiley at the strangers until the end. I am constantly amazed by this kid.

And in other news, he is becoming more regular again in his bowel movements. It really is true, that parents of infants and toddlers really don’t have much else to talk about than poop and sleep. Anyway, I’m sure some of you out there understand.

So his picture today: this is what he looked like about 15 minutes after I put him in his crib when we got home (it was super hot and humid, which is why his bottoms are off of him)(and sorry it’s so dark – I didn’t want to wake him with the flash).

Loving God through my family, friends, and interactions in my world.
