Making My Own

Awesome discussion on finances! Will definitely post another key tip soon to hear more from people. I still have huge hesitance in putting less than 20% down for a house though…

Today I finally received my shipment of oils and products to make my own home made body care products! Hurrah! In honour of this special occasion, I made Spencer’s first home made bum cream, which (so far) has turned out pretty awesome. It’s the exact consistency I was hoping for (yay!) and it smells nice! I didn’t have an exact recipe for his cream, I used the ingredients list off of a natural cream called Bum Bum Balm that I really liked and I used the proportions listed for a lip gloss in one of my recipe books, Organic Body Care Recipes. I’m pleased so far, so we’ll see how it does on his bum tomorrow.

It made…about 3.5oz worth and I’d guess it cost me about $1.50-$2.00 in materials (compared to $12 for the 2oz of the Bum Bum Balm). If I hadn’t reused some containers for it, I’d have to add in that cost, but I had a couple lying around.

Hurrah for success! As long as the boy doesn’t get a rash, we should be set!

Apart from the fact that we’re handing off a couch and a chair tomorrow, that’s about all of my news! What about you?

Colonel Sanders here wasn’t doing so well in the yogurt department…

Loving God through my family, friends, and interactions in my world.
