September

Well, this month Spencer is 7 months old. It’s crazy to think that it has been seven months since his surprise birth. Only five months until his first birthday…

We have been busy this summer, having traveled west to visit our families. I have created a new gallery entitled Vacation 2010 in the pictures section with all our photos from it. I’ll post a few highlights. We had a great time, and Spencer has grown so much, both physically and mentally. He’s definitely wiggling all over the place now. He’s starting to figure out crawling, if crawling can mean kicking his legs hard until they’re scrunched up under him while his face is mashed against the floor, and then flattening out a little to gain some distance. He mostly does his moving when I’m not looking. More often than not I find him half under the couch from all his efforts between rolling and crawling.

September is the start of a busy season for us. Andy started back at the school last week, and I am taking one academic class on Fridays this term. We are lucky to have friends who can watch Spencer during that time. In addition to those, Spencer and I will be taking a yoga class for mommies & babies, and Spencer’s enrolled in infant ‘swim lessons’, though I’m sure it’s more like an introduction to water with infants for the parents. I’m looking forward to it, as he enjoys water so much as it is already (are there any babies that don’t?). And one evening a week Kat & I will be taking a yoga class, barring any TA positions that would interfere for her.

That’s all of our big news so far. Hope you enjoy the photos!
