Parliament!
We went on another adventure on Monday, spur of the moment! After working on our finances for a good couple of hours (blech!), we decided to go for a walk in the midst of downtown Ottawa – parliament! It was a nice day outside, -7 with the wind chill, clear blue skies, and mostly clear walkways! We didn’t do too much, just wandered around the buildings and statues, but we did take some pictures.
Other than that, we had a good Valentine’s Day – nothing too exciting. We’re going to start making wine this week…Ontario (and BC, apparently) have this cool thing called U-Brew. Basically, we go into this brewery-type place, buy a kit, add yeast, leave, come back in several weeks, bottle and cork it, and we’re done. The store takes care of all the pain in the bum details that come with making wine, and we just get the nicely fermented juice at the end! We’re perfectly excited. We should have some wine by the summer if we’re able to get it started this week. In addition to that, once we move into our place, we’ll probably get started on another batch, but at home. I’d like to make a good Gewurztraminer.
Yup, I think that’s about it. We had really good rack of lamb tonight with an olive paste smeared all over it. Mmmmm, even Andy really liked it. That’s our adventure so far.
