September Already?!

Wow, the summer flew by! It’s September already, the weather threatens to frost now, and the trees aren’t even fully yellowed yet.

So, how have things been going with these Korvemakers? Fairly up and down. Our trip was fantastic, it was quite the blessing and quite a lot of driving, but worth every minute of it (except the earthquake, really). We have quite a few memories from it and are glad we had such an opportunity to travel and visit with friends.

When we came back, Andy had an interview to be rehired for his job, but did not get it, which has been a bit trying for us. Andy had his last day of work on the 29th of August, and now he’s looking for other work for the next year. This is includes looking in Ottawa, as we’ve decided that if he comes across a job that pays just a bit better than what he was being paid at St. John’s Parish, it will be worth it to move and have the security of a job there. So far, that hasn’t been the case. The two job opportunities that were open in the Ottawa Archdiocese had a prerequisite of being bilingual. Please pray for us that Andy finds something soon – we’d appreciate any intercession in what direction he should be going.

My health is doing fairly well. Prior to our trip I had taken a set of acupuncture sessions as an alternative to the medication I was on for polycycstic ovary syndrome. I continued with my medication for the month of August (to finish up 6 months of being on it), as Dr. McKenna did not believe that it would interfer with the acupuncture treatments. I’ve decided that the benefit of the medication has not been equal to or more beneficial than where I had been before I started taking it, so I chose not to continue with it. Rather, I’d focus more on working towards a healthier weight which has a direct link to PCOS, which felt like it was near impossible to do while on the medication. Currently I’m tracking how my cycle is going (I keep records, which was my first indicator last May that something was wrong with me), and so far my body seems to be functioning normally. This wasn’t expected to happen until around the three month mark of finishing the medication (it takes approximately about 3 months for a body to work the meds out of the system), so I feel like I’m doing fairly well considering. The next 3 weeks or so will also reveal whether I’m on track and functioning normally or not, so I still have to wait to make sure, but it’s looking very hopeful.

Other than that, there isn’t too much going on with us. We bought Mario Kart for the Wii, which we’ve been enjoying and playing a lot. I’m applying for different jobs, hoping for something with more steady hours and that pays more as well. Praying something will turn out positively for that too.

Lastly, we’re starting a galleries section on our website that’s at the top of the page. It’s slow to upload pictures, so we may only have a few to look at periodically, but it’s a start. Oh, and as a note, if you don’t want to register yourself on the website, please make sure you leave your name at the end of your comment so that we know who wrote it, otherwise it’s confusing. We’d appreciate it a lot!

Hope everyone else is doing well and keeping at peace!

Loving God through my family, friends, and interactions in my world.
