Answer Me This & What I Wore Sunday #wiws

Answer Me This summer

1. Any big plans for the summer?

Mildly. We are going camping for the first time with Cassia and Felicity. It’s only a couple days, but it should prove sufficient in terms of adventures.

In August I will be traveling with the kids to Prince George for about a month to visit with my mom and friends from long ago. It’ll be nice to be back in my hometown for longer than a few days. Especially the whole catching up with people thing. That’ll be lovely.

2. What is the strangest thing you believed as a child?

I don’t think I had many strange things that I believed. I remember arguing about the proper words to songs (wrongly interpreting them, as all children do), but I can’t think of anything strange.

3. What is your favorite amusement park ride? (can be a specific one at a specific park or just a type of ride)

I love roller coasters. I love getting a thrill out of the ‘holy moly I can’t believe I’m about to sacrifice my sanity for this thing!’ and freaking out as it happens. I’m mildly scared of heights, so that enhances the insanity of it all.

4. What’s on your summer reading list?

By far, this is the big one. 2015-06-14 13.24.16

Our friend, Fr. Darryl Millette, brought it back for us from the Catholic New Media Conference in Atalanta, Georgia a week ago. He and another priest were hosted by Sarah Vabulas and she introduced them to some cool drinks.

Apart from that, I’ve started GK Chesterton’s Orthodoxy and would like to finish it.OrthodoxyI have big, big plans to read a former textbook on St. Paul’s writings, but I have no idea if that will come to fruition or not.

5. Have you ever fallen asleep in public?

Not regularly. Every time I close my eyes my two littlest make sure to let me know that I’m on duty still. Andy falls asleep on the bus regularly, though.

6. What is your favorite smell?

I have many. I’m currently in love with Lemon Verbena. It’s such an uplifting smell! And I found a couple plants at the Farmer’s Market and I’m thrilled that they’re in my garden now.

If my allergies didn’t always kick in, I’d love the smell of freshly cut grass more.

And frankincense. I love, love frankincense.

What I Wore Sunday

2015-06-14 wiwsOn me: dress – Laura
sweater – Reitmans
Cassia: hand-me-down (brand – Sweet Blossoms)
Spencer: shirt – Once Upon a Child (brand – Claiborne)
jeans – parish garage sale (brand – American Hawk)

It’s raining and gloomy today, so I’m glad Spencer had a chance to wear his sports jacket again. He looks like such a handsome little fella in it! And I don’t know if any picture I get of him could ever do it justice. He’s never still when I want a fashion photo.
